My Interview

I’m a…

Research Associate evaluating a type 2 diabetes prevention programme.

What I do

My job is to look at the different aspects of the diabetes prevention programme (diet advice, physical activity advice, social support, positive mental wellbeing and relaxation exercises), and see whether the combination of these components are effective in changing behaviour and reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes, through weight loss, reducing blood sugar levels, eating more healthily, doing more exercise, or generally feeling better.

The biggest food challenge facing society today..

Temptation, food advertising and sales tactics, and mixed messages in the media.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Logical, practical, and an optimist.

Who is your favourite singer or band?

What's your favourite food?

Toad in the Hole

What is the most fun thing you've done?

Been playing roller derby for 3 years now!

If you had 3 wishes for yourself what would they be? - be honest!

I would be a little bit taller, I would have a teleporter so I didn’t have to travel an hour to work everyday, and I would eradicate Mondays.

Tell us a joke.
